    Job Description

    Working knowledge in designing outside plant facilities for both Fiber/Copper networks, including new subdivision layout, rehabilitation, underground structures including conduit and relocation of cable facilities.
    Be able to interpret substructure systems prints/plans, ROW/Easement documentation
    Perform field survey/measurements for cable and terminal placement, bore details, hand holes, manholes (if required) and access cabinet locations (DLC, RT, VRAD, FDH, etc.).
    Make sound engineering judgment in the field concerning cable footages, terminal, hand hole and cable placements, etc.
    Design outside plant facilities for FTTN/VRAD and FTTP.
    Be able to assist/represent senior engineers in attending pre-construction meetings and perform site surveys.
    Familiarity with various communications concepts such involving copper and fiber optic cable.
    Candidates should have good leadership, organizational and communication skills.
    Be able to interpret hand drafted OSP fiber feeder and distribution drawings from engineer field notes.
    Able to interpret and design outside plant plans and records from draft form..

    Skills and Qualifications

    Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
    Understands telecom industry standards and practices
    Strong analytical skills, the ability to meet deadlines, multi task and prioritize
    Ability to work without direct supervision quickly in a dynamic environment
    Ability to make high level design assumptions when provided limited information
    Excellent written and oral communications, interpersonal, analytical, abstract reasoning and organizational skills

    Requirement :
    Candidate should attend a 3 to 4 week course (Basic OSP Engineering) at the candidates’ expense.
    Training is not a guarantee of work for the trainee after the training program. After the trainee passes the GW Comm appraisal test, trainee will then be presented to AT&T for a position of OSP engineer. Once approved by AT&T, trainee must be able to provide AT&T an engineering work order or permit package that is acceptable to AT&T at an agreed timeframe.
