Job Description
Perform field inspections of communications facility placement, facility rearrangement, and/or any associated construction work.
Attend meetings with AT&T personnel, government agencies, their representatives and construction suppliers.
Must have an understanding of outside plant design principles, print reading, work order procedures, telephone industry standards, national electric code, AT&T practices, and AT&T procedures.
Must have a thorough understanding of city, county, state, and federal governing agencies is required.
Must have a functional knowledge of pc applications (i.e., acas, jmos), and computer aided drafting/record systems (i.e. opti-nt & opti-records).
Be able to maintain good public relations in contact with the public and with employees of AT&T.
Previous experience with AT&T is a plus.
Experience with Opti-Lite and ARES drafting is a big plus.
Skills and Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
Understands telecom industry standards and practices
Strong analytical skills, the ability to meet deadlines, multi task and prioritize
Ability to work without direct supervision quickly in a dynamic environment
Ability to make high level design assumptions when provided limited information
Excellent written and oral communications, interpersonal, analytical, abstract reasoning and organizational skills
